Alex's vision was to create the ultimate URL server for Emule, a centralized hub that would allow users to easily discover and access shared files. He spent months researching and experimenting, pouring over lines of code and testing various server architectures.
The original eMule project—specifically the official emule-project.net —has largely been dormant for years. While "official" updates are virtually non-existent, the community has kept the software alive through modified clients (like eMule Mod or NeoLoader) and, crucially, by maintaining lists of active servers.
“I got a 700MB file from a URL server on a Raspberry Pi in a different country. No open ports. No VPN. It just worked. That’s the future.”
