The Complete Ryujinx Guide (2026) 1. What is Ryujinx? Ryujinx is a free, open-source Nintendo Switch emulator for Windows, Linux, and macOS. It focuses on accuracy, stability, and a wide game compatibility library.

Important Legal Notice: You must own a legitimate Nintendo Switch console and the original game cartridges/digital copies. Downloading firmware or game files from the internet is illegal in most jurisdictions. This guide assumes you are dumping your own games and system firmware.

3. Downloading & Installing Ryujinx

Go to the official Ryujinx website: ryujinx.org Download the installer or portable version for your OS. Run the installer. Choose a directory (avoid Program Files for modding access). Launch Ryujinx. It will create a Ryujinx folder in Documents (or ~/.config/Ryujinx on Linux).

4. Setting Up System Firmware (Required) Without firmware, games will not boot. Dumping Firmware from your Switch (Recommended): Ryujinx is a free, open-source Nintendo Switch emulator

On your modded Switch, run Lockpick_RCM or Lockpick (homebrew). Select “Dump from SysNAND” → choose “Full”. Copy the produced Firmware X.X.X folder to your PC.

Installing Firmware in Ryujinx:

In Ryujinx, go to File → Open Ryujinx Folder → open system folder. Or click Tools → Install Firmware → Install from folder . Select your dumped firmware folder. Wait for installation (you’ll see “System Version X.X.X” in bottom-left). Downloading firmware or game files from the internet
