Born , Zagor lives in the mythical Darkwood Forest in the 1830s American Midwest. After the tragic death of his parents at the hands of Abenaki Indians, he dedicated his life to justice, adopting the name Za-Gor-Te-Nay (The Spirit with the Hatchet) to act as a peacemaker between settlers and Native American tribes.
