The decision to keep Season 5 short was primarily driven by the busy schedules of the lead actors. At the time of filming, both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell were heavily involved in the CW’s "Arrowverse" (specifically Legends of Tomorrow ). To make the revival happen, the production had to fit into a very tight filming window.
