Piracy rips (the typical file format found on these sites) often crush the blacks and wash out the highlights. In a way, this degradation unintentionally enhances the film's grim atmosphere. The "grain" of a pirated copy fits the texture of the movie better than it would a bright Marvel romp. It turns a blockbuster into a found-footage style dark fantasy, making the viewing experience feel raw and unpolished—exactly the mood the filmmakers tried to achieve, albeit through technical limitation rather than artistic choice.
