But the real seismic shift comes early: Amy’s husband, Adam, is moving back in, forcing her to compartmentalize her feelings for Jonah—a tension that simmers beautifully all season.

The overarching plot is light but effective. The store gets a new, perpetually frazzled manager in Glenn (Mark McKinney) after the previous manager’s meltdown, but he’s constantly undermined by the cynical, corporate-ladder-climbing Dina (Lauren Ash). Meanwhile, the crew faces everything from a tornado warning and a store “sexual harassment workshop” (which goes exactly as expected) to the introduction of a robotic floor-sweeper named Glenn (yes, named after the manager).
