The story is set in a small town in Uttarakhand and revolves around three friends: SK (Shahid Kapoor), Nauti (Shraddha Kapoor), and Tripathi (Divyendu). Their carefree lives are turned upside down when Tripathi opens a printing press and is slapped with an astronomical electricity bill of ₹1.5 Lakhs (later inflated to ₹54 Lakhs). Unable to pay the bribe or the bill, Tripathi commits suicide. The film then follows SK, a corrupt lawyer who has a change of heart, as he takes on the corrupt electricity board to seek justice for his friend.
