The bootmgfw.efi file, commonly known as the Boot Manager, is responsible for initiating the Windows boot process. When a computer is powered on, the UEFI firmware searches for this file in the EFI System Partition (ESP), a specially formatted partition on the hard drive. Once found, the UEFI firmware loads and executes bootmgfw.efi , which then takes over the boot process, presenting the user with a boot menu if multiple operating systems are installed, and eventually loading the selected operating system.
