Converting games from an (Xbox Executable) folder format to a streamlined XISO (Xbox ISO) image is a common task for enthusiasts using modern emulators like Xemu or modded original Xbox hardware. While an XBE file is the core executable for an Xbox game, an XISO is a specifically formatted disc image that strips away unnecessary padding and video partitions to make games more compatible with emulators and easier to transfer via FTP. Why Convert XBE Folders to XISO?

Ensure your game files are in a folder structure like this:

Use the command: extract-xiso -c "C:\Path\To\GameFolder"

The xemu emulator requires XISO format and cannot run .xbe files directly.

This process is most commonly used by users of the original Xbox (2001) or the community (modern homebrew developers) to package their games or applications for use on modded consoles, hard drives, or emulators like XEMU.
