Patient Safety
Thermal Index (TI) & Mechanical Index (MI): Always monitor the TI and MI values displayed on the screen. Keep indices as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA principle) to prevent tissue heating or cavitation, especially in obstetric and neonatal scans. Transducer Cleaning: Failure to properly clean and disinfect transducers between patients can result in cross-contamination.
3. Getting Started Powering On/Off
Power On: Ensure the main power switch (rear panel) is ON. Press the On/Standby button on the front operator panel. Wait for the Windows OS and the Acuson software to load fully (approx. 60–90 seconds). Power Off: Press the On/Standby button. Follow the on-screen prompts to shut down the system properly. Do not switch off the main power switch until the software has fully closed.
