Ayuntamiento La Eliana
The modern era, beginning with the return of democracy in 1979, brought a renaissance for Spanish local governance. For La Eliana, this culminated in the construction of its first permanent, dedicated Town Hall. Inaugurated in the late 1990s and located at , the current building is a symbol of the town’s maturity. Architecturally, it presents a functional, civic modernist face—prioritising accessibility, transparency, and public service over ornate decoration. Its most prominent feature is the main Salón de Plenos (Plenary Hall), where the 17 municipal councillors ( concejales ) debate and decide the town’s future. The building houses all the key administrative departments, from the Mayor’s office ( Alcaldía ) to Urban Planning, Finance, Social Services, and Citizen Participation.
