“A Broom Closet and Satan’s Monopoly Board” is a standout episode of Season 3. It takes a high-concept philosophical debate and grounds it in the messy reality of a church supply closet. The HDrip format does justice to the thoughtful staging and nuanced performances. While the B-plot with Mary and Brenda is entertaining filler, the main event—a battle of logic versus faith in 480 square feet—is some of the sharpest writing the series has ever produced.
