In 1987, the animation studio TMS Entertainment and production company DIC Enterprises released Bionic Six , a 65-episode series centered on the Bennett family. Following an accident involving a "Glowing Crystal," Professor Amadeus "Sharp" Bennett implants his entire family—himself, his wife Helen, and their five adopted children of diverse ethnic backgrounds—with "bionic modules." The family adopts code names (Bionic-1, Mother-1, Sport-1, etc.) and combats the villainous Dr. Scarab.
