Ear congestion occurs when the Eustachian tube, which connects the middle ear to the back of the throat, becomes blocked. This tube helps regulate air pressure in the ear and drain mucus. When it becomes blocked, fluid can build up, leading to feelings of fullness, pressure, or clogging in the ear.
Contracted mild COVID (Omicron variant) in 2023. Acute symptoms resolved in 5 days, but she reported a persistent "sloshing" sound in her left ear when nodding her head.
