Windows Server’s Data Deduplication feature uses hard links internally to store single copies of duplicate chunks.

It's not possible to tell the difference between the original file and the hard link just by looking at the file content. However, you can use command-line tools or programming APIs to find out how many hard links point to a file. hard link windows
