In Thailand, one such paradigm is colloquially termed —referring to a specific content creator (Jinx) who popularized real-time scanning challenges during broadcasts. Viewers are prompted to scan QR codes, product barcodes, or even environmental markers using their smartphones, triggering in-stream events, giveaways, or narrative branches.

QR code usage surged in Thailand during the COVID-19 pandemic for contact tracing and payments (Chaisatien & Akahat, 2021). Jinx repurposed this familiarity for entertainment. jinx สแกน
