The story centers on a middle-class family consisting of Shekhar (), his wife Chitra ( Revathi ), and their two young children, Arjun ( Tarun ) and Anu ( Shruthi ). The film begins with Chitra being told her third child was stillborn. Years later, it is revealed that the child, Anjali ( Baby Shamili ), is alive but has a terminal neurodevelopmental condition.
The movie takes a dramatic turn when Anjali's younger brother becomes ill and needs expensive medical treatment.
