No product is perfect. Critics point out that Archetypes are —you cannot import a capture from the Rabea plugin into the Plini plugin. Additionally, the standalone version lacks a built-in looper (except Cory Wong's), and the Neural Capture feature (allowing you to profile your own real amp) is only available in the flagship Quad Cortex hardware unit, not the desktop plugins.
Unlike traditional amp simulators that offer a generic collection of vintage amps and cabs, a Neural DSP Archetype is a curated ecosystem. Each Archetype is developed in direct collaboration with a world-class guitarist (e.g., Cory Wong, Tim Henson, Rabea Massaad, Tom Morello, or John Petrucci).
