The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal, Shifty Shetty, and Naseeruddin Shah. The movie is a remake of the 1980 film Karz, with some elements inspired by the life of Bollywood actor Rajesh Khanna.
