The movie follows Charlie Young (Keanu Reeves), a young lawyer who joins a prestigious law firm in New York City. He soon discovers that the firm's senior partner, John Milton (Jeremy Irons), is actually the devil. As Charlie becomes more involved in the firm's cases, he begins to realize that Milton is using his position to further his own evil agenda.
