While it is an excellent product, the MicroLogix 1100 is no longer recommended for new machine designs due to its mature status. For legacy systems, it is a dream to maintain—reliable, easy to program, and well-documented. If you are designing a new system requiring this form factor, the MicroLogix 1400 is the recommended upgrade path, offering higher memory and processing power while retaining the familiar RSLogix 500 programming environment.
