You can configure serial ports but not have an interactive terminal:

For a true Minicom experience (interactive, configurable, with file transfers), install one of these:

: Once in your Linux terminal (e.g., Ubuntu), run sudo apt install minicom .

This is scriptable but not interactive like Minicom.
