The original manga, Shoujo Tsubaki , follows a young orphan girl named Midori. After her mother dies, she is sold to a traveling freak show circus, where she is subjected to relentless physical and sexual abuse by the cruel performers and the lecherous magician, Masamitsu. Her only escape comes in the form of a mysterious, tiny dwarf named Wonder Mask, who promises her love and salvation—but whose nature proves to be far darker than she imagines.
