As the tournament progressed, alliances were formed and broken, and the competition grew fiercer. Characters began to use their special moves and Final Smashes to gain the upper hand. Kirby, for instance, used his incredible copy abilities to mimic the moves of his opponents, while Sonic utilized his spin dashes and chaos control to outmaneuver his foes.
