You can quickly switch to a darker interface by navigating to your application preferences: : Windows : Go to Edit > Preferences > Interface . Mac : Go to InDesign > Preferences > Interface . Adjust the Pasteboard : You can quickly switch

You can somewhat dim the interface, but it is not a true dark mode. In Preferences > Interface , you can select different "Appearance" levels, but the darkest setting in CS6 is still a medium-light gray rather than the charcoal or black found in later versions.
