: On September 12, 1996, López recorded his final tape, titled "Last Day". After mailing the package to Björk’s London residence, he returned home, painted his face red and green, and filmed his suicide while listening to Björk’s music. Discovery and Aftermath

: Over the course of nearly nine months in 1996, López recorded himself in his Florida apartment. The tapes detail his extreme obsession with the Icelandic singer Björk, fueled by his anger over her romantic relationship at the time.

Four days after his death, police discovered López’s decomposing body in his apartment after neighbors reported a foul odor. Along with his remains, authorities found the video tapes and an 800-page diary. After viewing the footage, Florida police contacted Scotland Yard, who successfully intercepted the acid bomb before it could reach the singer.

: In his last recordings, López appears with his head shaved and skin painted green and red. He filmed himself mailing a letter bomb —designed to spray sulfuric acid—to Björk’s home in London.
