Before starting the VM, check the disk chain for consistency. vmkfstools -e original_name.vmdk Use code with caution.
If the descriptor file is missing (perhaps due to a storage glitch, a failed snapshot consolidation, or accidental deletion), we have to manually construct a new one. recover vmdk from flat file
If the descriptor file ( vmname.vmdk ) is deleted or corrupted, but the -flat.vmdk file remains intact, you can fully recover the virtual disk by recreating the descriptor. Before starting the VM, check the disk chain for consistency
