Essay Text: "Making a chip is one of the most complex manufacturing processes ever devised. It takes place in a 'fab'—a multi-billion-dollar factory that is thousands of times cleaner than a hospital operating room. The process involves photolithography: coating a wafer with light-sensitive material and projecting circuit patterns onto it using extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light. Layers of materials are deposited, etched away, and polished, repeating up to 80 times to build the 3D structure of the chip. A single fab can cost over $20 billion and consumes massive amounts of energy and ultrapure water."
Semiconductors work by using a combination of materials with different electrical properties. The most common type of semiconductor is the p-n junction, which consists of two types of materials: semiconductors ppt

Essay Text: "In the early days, transistors were discrete components. Then came the revolutionary idea of the Integrated Circuit (IC) . Instead of wiring transistors together manually, engineers learned to fabricate millions—or billions—of transistors directly onto a single chip of silicon, connecting them with microscopic aluminum or copper wires. This integration is why a computer that once filled a room now fits in your pocket. The complexity is mind-boggling: a modern microprocessor the size of a fingernail contains over 50 billion transistors." Layers of materials are deposited, etched away, and
