Why is it called Durood-e-Roohi ? The name implies it is a salutation specifically tailored for the soul's nourishment.
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الصَّلَوَاتُ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الرَّحْمَةُ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی مُحَمَّدٍ مَّا دَامَتِ الْبَرَكَاتُ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی رُوْحِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْاَرْوَاحِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی صُوْرَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الصُّوَرِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی اِسْمِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْاَسْمَاءِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی نَفْسِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی النُّفُوْسِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی قَلْبِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْقُلُوْبِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی قَبْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْقُبُوْرِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی رَوْضَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الرِّيَاضِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی جَسَدِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی الْاَجْسَادِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی تُرْبَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِی التُّرَابِ، وَ صَلِّ عَلٰی خَیْرِ خَلْقِهٖ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ عَلٰی اٰلِهٖ وَ اَصْحَابِهٖ وَ اَزْوَاجِهٖ وَ ذُرِّيَاتِهٖ وَ اَهْلِ بَیْتِهٖ وَ اَحْبَابِهٖ اَجْمَعِيْنَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ 🌍 durood e roohi

Key Benefits and Practices While all Duroods carry immense rewards, such as the forgiveness of sins and the elevation of one's spiritual rank, Durood-e-Roohi is traditionally associated with specific practices: Intercession for the Deceased: It is famously recited in graveyards to pay homage to the departed. Tradition suggests that reciting it once at a grave may lead to the removal of the deceased's punishment for 70 years. Honoring Parents: It is highly recommended for children to recite this specific Durood when visiting the graves of their father or mother. Spiritual Proximity: Consistent recitation is believed to bring the heart closer to the Prophet ﷺ, providing peace and inner light. Timing: Although it can be read at any time, it is frequently associated with the night of total veneration of the Prophet ﷺ
