Minnal Murali showed us that a great villain doesn’t need a CGI army or a planet to destroy. Just a heart shattered in the right (or wrong) way.
He’s not wrong about the world’s cruelty. He’s just wrong about what to do with his pain.
The 2021 Malayalam superhero film Minnal Murali, directed by Abhijith Joseph, took the audience by storm with its unique blend of action, drama, and humor. While the protagonist, played by Jibu Jacob, garnered praise for his portrayal of the titular character, the real showstopper was the villain, Siju Wilson.
Played brilliantly by Guru Somasundaram , Shibu isn’t born evil. He’s a quiet, overlooked tailor in a small Kerala town. Humiliated, abandoned by his lover, and denied even basic dignity, he gets his powers the same way Jaison (Minnal Murali) does – lightning strike.
Most superhero movies give you a villain who’s either a power-hungry monster or a cackling cartoon. Minnal Murali gave us Shibu – and he’s unforgettable.
Siju Wilson's character, Justin, is a complex and intriguing antagonist who brings depth to the story. His performance is a masterclass in acting, elevating the film to new heights. Wilson's portrayal of Justin is both captivating and terrifying, making him a compelling adversary for Minnal Murali.
